Exercise programmes

Exercise can be best defined as any level of activity that sustains and enhances a level of fitness so that overall health and wellbeing can also be maintained. Exercise can be performed for a wide variety of reasons depending on the goals and targets that have been set my oneself or for example a physiotherapist as part of a rehabilitation programme.

Following a thorough initial assessment with one of the specialist physiotherapists an extensive rehabilitation program will be devised specially based on the aims and goals that are set during the assessment. As the programme is tailor made for each individual it will be based around the progression and physiology of the condition that is being treated.

What an exercise program consists of:-

  • Strengthening and stretching exercises
  • Balance control
  • Muscle control exercises
  • Postural exercises
  • Functional activity exercises
  • Correct technique exercises
  • Overload exercises
  • Specificity exercises

Our physiotherapists have a comprehensive background in prescribing exercise programs to their patients so that there recovery is as fast as possible and normal functional activities and hobbies can be restarted.

The physiotherapists not only just prescribe exercises programs as part of a treatment plan but also to those that may want to gain an improvement within their given sport and need specialist advice on how to make these improvements.
