Treatments

At Sport and Spinal physio our highly specialised physiotherapists offer a wide range of treatments constructed on evidence based practices, thus supplying their clients with correct and highly effective treatment programmes in the road to rehabilitation.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient but effective form of treatment that helps relieve the body's stresses with the use of needles. This form of treatment has many benefits such as the reduction of pain and the improvement of functional movement.

Advice and education

Our specialised physiotherapists see it as a requirement to educate their clients on their conditions. Our clients are guaranteed not only a great understanding but advice on how to utilise the information successfully against their condition.

Core stability training

Core stability training is a very effective way of improving the working muscles of the torso. A training programme from our physiotherapists that specialised in core stability training would encourage the use of the inner core muscles which has many benefits such as the support of the spine and improves stabilisation around the area.

Dry needling

Dry needling is a form of treatment similar to that of acupuncture. They both have the same desired effects on the tissue structures but differ slightly in approach with the dry needling adapting a direct trigger point route.

Postural re-education

Postural re-education is a method of treatment which aims are directed at the realignment of bad posture which can or has led to detrimental effects of everyday living.

Taping & strapping

Taping and strapping is used as a method of treatment to prevent possible injuries or to stop them reoccurring in the future. It is used as an intervention by all types of professional sports as its effects are greatly needed for physical and psychological reasons.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a hands on type of skilled therapy. It targets the soft tissues structures with the use of manipulation and mobilisation in order to reduce pain and increase range of movement within the joint.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is a form of treatment which is best described as the use of electrical currents that target the nerves and muscles and aid in reducing pain whilst stimulating the structures in the remodelling phase of tissue healing.

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral manipulation is a type of treatment that is designed to target the internal organs of the human body. A hands on technique is adopted by our specialised physiotherapists with the goal of manipulating the tissue structures to encourage internal movement. Through a gentle compression used by our therapists, a sense of enhancement and an increase in bodily functions can be gained within the process.
